Search for the isolated millisecond pulsar J0030+0451 in the optical

Nearby isolated millisecond pulsar J0030+0451 was detected in radio with Arecibo telescope and in X-rays with ROSAT, both in 2000. We report an attempt to reveal it in the optical with the VLT. No pulsar was found, upper limits are obtained in B, V and R bands.
