Scope

  • Spin waves in nanostructures

  • Interaction of spin waves with elastic waves and other excitations
  • Neutron scattering by spin waves
  • Dynamics of magnetic domain walls
  • Other new topics in magnetic dynamics
The Symposium will include:
  • lectures (45 min)
  • oral contributed papers (15 min)
  • poster contributed papers
Note
Abstracts of lectures and all papers, oral and poster, will be posted up on stands during the whole day of the corresponding session.

Abstracts

Two copies of abstracts of all papers are to be handed at the registration. The form of abstracts should meet the following requirements:
  • size - one or two pages A4 including formulae and figures
  • language - English
  • names of all authors and their affiliations are to be indicated
  • the font size of text, formulae, and inscriptions on the figures must be large enough for reading at a stand.

Illustrations

The illustrations for lectures and oral papers are transparencies for standard over-head projector. The transparencies should be in English and contain all the information necessary to show the main ideas of the paper.

Program

The program of the Symposium will be handed to the participants at the registration. The list of all accepted papers will be soon available in our Web site SpinWaves

Location

Symposium sessions will be held in Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute, 26 Polytekhnicheskaya str., St Petersburg.

Transport:
From airport "Pulkovo"

  • buses 13 and 39 or fixed-route taxi up to the metro station "Moskovskaja",
  • then, metro up to the station "Tekhnologicheskii institut",
  • then, change to metro line 1 and up to the station "Lesnaja",
  • then, bus 80 to the end stop "Ploshchad' Muzhestva",
  • then, all kinds of transport or on foot (5 min) to the metro station "Polytekhnicheskaya"
From railway station "Moskovskii vokzal"
  • metro line 1 up to the station "Lesnaja",
  • then, as pointed out above.

Accommodation

Hotel is placed in 5 min walk from the Symposium location.

Registration

Registration will take place in Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute (main entrance, 26 Polytekhnicheskaya str.)
Monday, May 20 from 9 am till 11 pm,
and
Tuesday, May 21 from 8 am till 6 pm.

Registration fee

100 roubles for participants from Russia and CIS
and
$100 for participants from other countries—is to be paid at the registration.

Note. Some participants, especially young ones and lecturers,
will be able to get partial compensation of the transport and lodging expenses.
Accompanying persons are cordially welcome and need not pay any registration fee.
