One of the effective mechanisms of energy losses in neutron star envelopes and white dwarf cores is the neutrino pair emission due to the plasmon decay. The rate of energy losses depends on the density and temperature. We present numerical calculations of of energy production at the plasmon decay for a wide range of densities and temperatures. The computation results are fitted with convenient analytical formulae. We have also calculated and fitted the plasmon-decay neutrino luminosity of white dwarfs.
