The Russian research organizations: Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Special Design and Technological Office "Technolog" will arrange the third International Symposium "Detonation Nanodiamond: Technology, properties and applications" which will be held in St Petersburg, Russia on July 1-4, 2008.

The first International Symposium "Detonation Nanodiamond. Technology, Properties and Applications" was held in St Petersburg, Russia on 7-9 July, 2003. The International conference "NANOCARBON & NANODIAMOND 2006" (September 11–15, 2006, St Petersburg, Russia) combined the 2nd International Symposium "Detonation Nanodiamond. Technology, Properties and Applications" and the 2nd Nanocarbon Workshop".
The proceedings of the "NC&ND 2006" has been published in the journal "Diamond and Related Materials" in December 2007.

The third Symposium will focus on the latest advances in the science and technology of nanodiamond and ultrananocrystalline diamond, and some other forms of nanocarbons, especially carbon onions, nanographite and carbide derived carbon

The number of participants of the conference will be no more than 100.

Program will include about 10 invited lectures (40 minutes), not more than 20 oral presentations (25 minutes) and poster session. The list of invited speakers will be created on the basis of suggestions from the advisers and members of the Program Committee.
